John Lennon, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr. — What a Rolodex!

We all either know someone or have heard of someone that elicits the “I’ll bet you can tell some stories” line.  Shelly Liebowitz is one of those people, hands down.  The guest on Episode 239 of “Now Hear This Entertainment,” released early this morning, his list of entertainers that he worked with over the years is music royalty.  Listen as he tells me about John Lennon, Sammy Davis, Jr., Frank Sinatra and more.  A record executive, producer, promoter, and manager, Liebowitz also counts the Rolling Stones, Count Basie, and Ella Fitzgerald among those he worked with.  Plus, on the NHTE episode, you’ll hear him refer in passing to the likes of Blondie and Snoop Dogg.  And, listen how quickly he answers my question when I ask, “Who is out there in 2018 that is doing it right — That you admire not only their music, but the way they carry themselves, they way they do business.”  He tells me a name that comes very quickly without even having to think about it.

For the listeners who are aspiring performers themselves, I also ask what it takes to get signed to a record label, as Shelly is also the CEO of SRI Label Group.

For someone with that kind of career it comes as no surprise that last year he did publish a book (cover shown below), which we talk about as well.  (Wait until you hear how many photographs he had and went through to put the book together!)
